Harry Potter Fan Club

Me and my friend Rayna made a Harry Potter fan club. Our first metting is on the 30th. What we are doing is Getting the club info, getting sorted, quidditch, then Honeydukes. In the club, each member has a HP 'nickname', but the house that they are sorted into does not have to be same house as thcharacter. Everyone has there top choice of house, and 4 people are in the club total, but we didn't make any Slytherin's. For example i'm in Hufflepuff (my fav) and my character is Ginny Weasley (also my fav). Everyone has a character they like. I'll explain each activity.

1. Info: We explain the rules.

2. Sorting: We use a witch hat and sort people.

3. Qudditch: We use Homemade brooms (get a broomlike stick, (we used bamboo) and attach sticks on the end with strings, we only did that to me and Rayna's because there is hardly and sticks in the backyard) I'll post a picture of the brooms later. With hula hoops as goal-posts, we play with a ball (its quite hard with only 2 people per team).

4. Honeydukes: We take a trip to Honeydukes with acid pops and choco-frogs.

Harry and the Potter's - "We sing songs about Books!"

It all started when I got a T-shirt from a graphic novel festival (in my post before) and it said 'Harry and the Potter's' on the front. As a Harry Potter fan, i bought it, thinking 'Harry and the Potter's' was just a Harry Potter parody made up by the shirt artist. Then, the artist of the shirt (he was the one selling it, he is Dave Roman) said "do you know the band Harry and the Potter's?" I said no. He (and Raina Telgemeir) told me it was singers singing in Harry's prospective. I thought "cool" and listened to a song on-line. They were good.

There is also another band called Draco and the Malfoy's, which is in the prospective of Malfoy, and a parody of Harry and the Potter's. Me and my friend Rayna both are OBSESSED with Harry Potter, and when I showed her this song, and we both loved it. We had to do a music project on a song for school, and we both chose this song! Graphic Novels @ Tcaf!

I went to the TCAF comic fest! I saw a Babymouse/squish, amulet and bone presentations made by the authors! I got my books signed, too.  I also got lots more (I'll also post pics of those). I met Raina Telgemeier (author of smile) and lots more people! I bought a harry potter t-shirt, made after a band called Harry and the Potter's! Here is the design from the shirt:

It's a cute book, but VERY different from amulet or bone. I would recommend it for young girls.

I would also recommend amulet, bone, babymouse, Raina's Telgemeier's comics, and Dave Roman's comics from the comic fest.

Percy Jackson Shield Craft!

This is for how to make and decorate A PJ Shield! Yesterday morning I remembered I had to present something for Girl guides in my group, so with school, me and my Dad had to make 28 shields in that amount of time. We first had to print ovals made on Powerpoint, then cut all of them and glue them onto cardboard, then cut those out. After, with a glue gun we glue pieces of fabric to the back for the handle. When I presented The craft to the guide troop, I put Percy Jackson books on the table to inspire for what to draw on the shield, and made charts that said ancient greek letters on them so some people could put that on the shield. I also brought a picture of Medusa because Thalia Grace from Percy Jackson has a shield with a picture of Medusa on it, if people wanted a shield like that. I had the book Percy Jackson the Ultimate guide, and people were reading that lots to find ideas. Turned out that 2 people did shields with things that do not relate to Percy Jackson, and the rest did Ancient greek letters and/or Percy Jackson things. This is a series by the same person that wrote Percy Jackson. It has some more main characters in it. It is a about mostly the same things. It is really good so far, but remember to read Percy Jackson before you read this series!

Percy Jackson - Camp half-blood beads craft

A fun craft to make the beads for the campers of the demigod camp.
You will need 4 wooden, square beads (only 4 because in the titans curse, it was in winter) to make the craft,  paint, a paintbrush and a paper clip.
With the paperclip, undo it so it's a a long wire. Now, since its very small pointed at the end, it will be easier to paint of a small bead. On the beads, you paint one picture for bead. The paintbrush is for when these are the pictures you paint: a green trident with a black back-round, the golden fleece hanging from Thalia's pine tree, a labyrinth, and the empire state building. Now let them dry, then string them on a necklace.

This series is about a young demigod (half greek god, half mortel) named Percy who has to save camp half-blood and stop evil titan lord Kronos from taking over.

Harry Potter and the prisoner of Azkaban- Marauders map

(Sorry there is no pictures, i forgot the maps at my house and I am somewhere else right now, but i'll try to get some pictures in soon.)
Here are the instructions to stain the map:
First you get tea bags, (orange tea is good, because it is easier to stain with) you get them wet in boiling water, the you squeeze them out so you won't get your map totally drenched in water. then, start dabbing the tea bag all over the map, until it's all brownish to look like old paper (You may need a few tea bags, because when I did it, the tea bags kept ripping and the fell apart, so you will most likely end up using 2-5). After you stain it,  Then you let it dry, because the tea bags usually get the map a little wet. After it's dry, you need a lighter. A parent will light the a corner or side of it, and you quickly dab it with a tea bag. Repeat this. it will make the edges look very old.

The best books the read are the Harry Potter series! They are the most exiting series! there about a wizard named Harry, who needs to battle evil Voldemort! I will Soon post some crafts about HP!
